International Investors Continue to Choose Montenegro

Foreign investment continues to demonstrate confidence in Montenegro and its long-term potential.

In the first half of 2026, Montenegro attracted more than €457 million in gross foreign direct investment, with inflows increasing compared with the same period last year. Real estate remained the leading investment category, attracting approximately €238 million — more than half of total FDI inflows.

What is particularly encouraging is the increasingly international profile of investors. Alongside traditionally strong regional markets, Germany and the United States continue to represent important sources of investment, reinforcing Montenegro’s visibility among major Western economies.

This comes at an important moment for the country — with EU accession progressing, major infrastructure investments underway and international economic partnerships expanding.

For us at Golden Group, these figures confirm something we experience through our own international network: Montenegro is attracting attention well beyond the region, and its investment story is becoming increasingly global.

For investors considering Montenegro, the combination of European integration, international demand and a developing market continues to create an interesting window of opportunity.

International confidence. Growing opportunities. Montenegro.
