ŠAVNIK – Solar Power Plant Dubrovsko & BESS

Golden Group is developing one of Montenegro’s largest renewable energy projects, combining a 195 MW AC solar photovoltaic power plant with a 200 MW / 400 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Dubrovsko, Šavnik Municipality.

The project covers approximately 275 hectares and includes a new 33/110 kV substation and a planned 6.3 km double-circuit 110 kV transmission line connecting the facility to the national electricity transmission network at Brezna.

Following approximately four years of intensive development, the project achieved a major milestone on 30 October 2026, when the building permit was obtained for the solar power plant, BESS and associated substation.

The project aims to contribute to Montenegro’s renewable energy transition by combining large-scale clean electricity generation with advanced energy storage and enhanced power system flexibility.
