Portonovi: Luxury Marina Development

Portonovi Resort Development is set to be a world class resort, comprising a 5 star plus branded hotel (One & Only), high-end residential units (villas and apartments), and a fully serviced marina, on the site formally known as the Orjensk Bataljon Barracks in Kumbor, Montenegro. The development will also include shops and restaurants, a tennis academy, conference centre, and botanical garden.

The project is located on the eastern coastline of the Adriatic Sea on the Boka Kotorska which is directly connected to the cruising waters of the Adriatic.
The site is approximately 25.17 ha with 3 km of coastline and 6.5 ha of aqua area suitable for construction of a 250-berth marina for vessels from 8m through to super-yachts of 80m.

Marina Projects is employed as the specialist marina consultancy taking a pro-active role in the design coordination and delivery of the marina and shoreline elements of the Portonovi, Montenegro development. Marina Projects also has responsibility for liaising with the project team, engineering contractor and client members as required to manage the program and deliver the final product.

Marina Projects has developed a marina berth mix that takes into account the development characteristics and client objectives. The marina berths will be spread across two areas; the main marina accommodating the majority of berths and a small exclusive satellite marina serving a number of private villas. The main marina will provide berthing for long-term, seasonal and visiting yachts.

The concept design and master-plan has been informed by a detailed review of the site constraints. This has enabled a value engineered solution to be brought forward that responds to the natural advantages of the site whilst respecting the limitations created by adjacent activities and the prevailing conditions.

Marina Projects will also provide the Client team with advice on operational matters and business planning during the marina commissioning and handover stage.
